A Night to Remember

Spend New Year’s Eve German style – with powder snow, shiny icicles and fantastical multi-coloured fireworks everywhere! German legislation allows you to buy and fire off your own set of firecrackers and spectacular rockets – on the eve of the 1st of January only. Alternatively, if you want to celebrate in style, there are many New Year’s concerts and dinner events around the valley, for instance at Tegernsee Town's reopened Hotel Bayern, in the brand new casino and bar in Bad Wiessee, or in one of the luxury hotels of Rottach-Egern. Enjoy a festive five course dinner and live music, then wrap up warm and stand out at midnight, when the sky above Lake Tegernsee is lit for a breathtaking 20 minutes by a vast sparkling fireworks display.
