Easter Treats at Lake Tegernsee

The Easter Bunny is called 'Meister Lampe' in German, and his tradition is as deeprooted as that of the Christmas tree. Every year, German kids blow out and paint real eggs in eager expectation of the biggest celebration in the spring calender of festivities. On Easter Sunday, they go hunt for real and chocolate Easter eggs around their own house and many public gardens. Bavarian Easter treats include delicious lamb-shaped cakes, braided yest buns and of course cooked eggs in all shapes.

But not only our youngest guests will delight in an Easter holiday at Lake Tegernsee. Springtime awakening in the Lower Alps is an inspiring spectacle, with tender crocus opening and young lambs grazing against a backdrop of snow-capped peaks. A great opportunity to shake off that winter lethargy and get back to some very enjoyable exercise - during a leisurely stroll on woodland paths or during a Nordic walking tour.
